A Place Beyond Belief – Visual Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Europe, Netherlands, travel, TRAVEL

How many times did I visit Amsterdam? I lost the count of how many bikes I rented, exhibitions I’ve visited, and the huge amount of streets I’ve walked through. Surely, it became one of my favourite cities, and it went so far that I might know it better than my hometown. Lovely bars pop up in my mind easier than when I would decide which place I should choose for an afterwork drink here in Zurich. Which is weird, but I like it somehow.

I gave tons of tips already and I don’t like being repetitive at all. I’m planning a new gastronomic tour for sure, since I discovered some new lovely gems on my last visit in May. According to the rest, I just like to take you visually to some places I’ve been lately. Just because they’re pretty and the vibe is one of a kind.

I spent a whole day in Amsterdam Noord again because I love the industrial surroundings. They are a huge contrast to classical Amsterdam and you can feel the area developing every next time you step out of the ferry. It’s alternative and very quiet, still, one of the most vibrant places of the city.

On good weather days I hit the rooftops and the best canal view places I know. If in the city this summer, you should definetly check out the rooftops on top of the Doubletree by Hilton next to the central station (especially if you like it chic and classy) or on top of the more laid back Volkshotel (if you feel more likely to be part of the awesome hood in the eastern part of the city). The best canal view is and will remain so far the terrace of Café de Jaren – a great place for whatever you feel doing: a coffee, a beer or a meal.
