Kessler’s Kulm Davos: Welcome to the Family (Win a Weekend in the Mountains)

Davos, Switzerland, travel

Davos is always a great place to escape the city jungle. Lucky as I am, I can enjoy some fresh mountain air within a 2 hours train ride from Zurich, which is great. And everytime I leave, I tell myself that I should do it more often. Because it’s not only about winter sports: it could be wellness, simply a walk, the heavy mountain food or an almost endless night in a bar. As you might already know, this weekend was about music. And my host during these three days was, once again, the perfect fit.

The Hotel Kessler’s Kulm is a place for everybody. This traditional three stars hotel is the perfect fit for the skier and the enjoyer of everything else Davos has to offer. I felt completely comfortable during my check in already: the owners make you feel welcome and part of it immediately. The classical image of a hotel employee fades quick here, the Kessler Family is always around, giving a hand in the restaurant and on for a chat everytime you want. Your well being is a priority here, which really gave me the feeling to have been around them way longer than I actually was.

To start the weekend right, we decided to have dinner in the restaurant. I totally reccommend you to try their homemade cheese fondue, which contains Monsteiner beer (made in the highest brewery of Europe), ham and fresh herbs. The taste is a one of a kind thing, and I get hungry everytime I just think about it! The rest of the menu offers a great variety of local dishes, meats and cheese. The service is impeccable and the restaurant supercosy (wood, wood, and again wood everywhere!).

There are rooms for every need and budget. The hotel has recently renovated rooms in the main building and some smaller rooms in the guesthouse just on the other side of the road. Since the hotel is located in Davos Wolfgang, the access is very easy through the bus stop just in front of the house and the train station with a service every 2 hours. This lovely place is andiecent to woods and quiet, so your evening has the most relaxing end after a night out in the numerous bars in Davos town – the silence and the clear sky full of stars is priceless though!

Breakfast on the sunny terrace is quite a delight and so is lunch. The sun shines bright on it until 3pm, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if you get lost in thoughts and conversations until mid afternoon here. The homemade mulled wine with almonds and cranberries is almost I must, it’s delicious! A walk in the woods nearby is a tip, but please don’t do my mistake and bring appropriate shoes (slippery stuff in there). Another highlight is the brand new sauna on top of the building, which will lead you pretty much in a dreamy state with the most amazing mountain views and the spacious sun terrace.

The hotel Kessler’s Kulm isn’t certainly for somebody looking for five stars amenties. And it’s fine so. It’s a place where you can find a family which is passionate in what she’s doing. People who can give you honest and great local tips. It’s the perfect fit for any type of guest: a family, a group of friends, a single traveller.

So here’s the deal: it’s almost Christmas right? I’m giving away one night in one of the rooms like shown here below for two persons, breakfast included. The night can be enjoyed on a weekend’s day and is upon the hotel’s availability. All you have to do is enter your e-mail (and confirm your subscription) in the form at the end of this post.
