Zermatt Unplugged 2015: sing, sing, sing.

Festivals

After last weekend, where I spent my time at one of the most acclaimed electronic music festivals – the Caprices – of Switzerland – the Caprices – , I’m finding myself again travelling back home from another mountain destination, Zermatt. Reason for that was the closing weekend of the Zermatt Unplugged, a little quieter festival this time, with a big focus on acoustic acts, where well established musicians are the main attraction, and new talented artists have a platform to play in a very international environment.

Festivals

I had pretty much some quietness when it comes to party feeling and my love for electronic music, another reason for me to forget my post travelling depression and head to the Swiss Alps and attend the Caprices Festival in Crans-Montana.

Songbird Festival Opening #2: Reza Dinally / Leslie Clio – melancholia vs. catchy pop

Concert, Davos, Leslie Clio, Live, Reza Dinally, Songbird Festival, Switzerland

The second evening of the Songbird Festival had again on stage two artists that couldn’t have been more different from each other musically speaking: Reza Dinally and Leslie Clio. At the legendary Montana Hotel, that celebrates itself as “Aprés Snow Culture” venue, I was happy to find an intimate concert hall, way smaller than the previous one, including some vintage stucco on the Roof: how charming is that?

Songbird Festival Opening #1: The Drops / Willam White – young freshness vs. positive vibes

Concert, Davos, Live, Music, Songbird Festival, Switzerland, The Drops, William White

The 7th Edition of the Songbird Festival taking place in the Swiss mountains of Davos couldn’t have a better start by having on stage two acts totally different from each other: the young pop/rock quartet of Basel based band The Drops and our national Reggae Sweetheart William White.

Zürich Openair 2014 – Summer Festival closing

Festival, Switzerland, Zürich Openair, ZOA

Holding a ticket for a festival that takes place in Switzerland around the end of August, leaves a bittersweet feeling in my heart everytime: that means that summer is definetly about to say goodbye and the festival season is closing. Zürich Openair (ZOA) is one of the youngest festivals here in my country. The first Edition made its debut in 2010, and remained pretty faithful to an alternative line up, which is great. Most of the acts have an indie or electronic background, are already settled in the scene or are the discovery and shining stars of the year.

Sónar Off Week

Sónar usually Begins on a Thursday. Since it attracts an international crowd, Barcelona gets to the best promoting spots for different Music Labels. In that week the Party calendar seems to explode, there are plenty of Events everyday, and it’s basically impossible to be everywhere. I collected a bit of experience during the past three years of my Barcelona visits, so I would recommend to anyone that wants to get there: inform yourself in advance!

Sónar 3.0

Allgemein

The time finally came! Since I started to book it last November, I just had one thought in my mind: “Please let it be June soon, I need to go back!”. This is what I actually call a proper Sónar week addiction. In the middle of June, like every year, Barcelona turns into a big Meeting Point for Music Lovers from all over Europe.

Coachella 2012

Beach, California, Coachella, Desert, Festival, Florida, Gay Friendly, Greyhound, Hollywood, Indio, Key West, LA, LAX, Los Angeles, Martin Solveig, The Black Keys, The Vaccines, Venice Beach

Being a festival fanatic took me to book a trip oversea. Me and my friend Maria were thinking about where to go for our spring vacation of almost 3 weeks, and decided to go and see what the Coachella Festival in California is all about.
