Motel One Basel: Art. Culture. Sleeping under the Stars.

Basel, Europe, Switzerland, travel, TRAVEL

It’s quite common when I’m attending events or concerts in Basel, that I have no chance to get back home to Zurich after 10pm. This lead to an excessive touring of different housing places and hotels in the city. I can’t tell you I tried all of those beds already, but I can tell you for sure that the most hotels I’ve visited so far while travelling through Switzerland are located in Basel. And if it wasn’t for an event, I had an outbound flight at 6am – I guess there’s no more yikes than that.

Lisbon: Stay. Eat. Enjoy.

Europe, Portugal, travel, TRAVEL

I’ll do a reverse thing here. My stay in Portugal goes way back to mid September, and I promised you to talk about it. The only thing I’m going to do that might seems a bit weird is starting to write about my journey from the very ending. Why? Well, it feels right and to be honest, one of those three articles will be a little more personal and requires some extra time to write and adjust. In addition to that, the start should be bright and beautiful, that’s the reason why I’d like to present you a true gem in the very center of Lisbon, which was perfect to end my trip. And ending with a bang, as many people say.

Motel not Motel

Blog, Europe, Germany, Motel One, Munich, TRAVEL

Motels usually are defined as a place outside of urban centres, where motorists make their stops along the freeway for a night or two. Mostly famous for their L or U shape, low rise buildings and facing a wide parking lot, the first ones started to pop up in the US in the twenties, when traveling long distances became more popular and truckers were in need of a decent pit stop. Nothing really fancy here, the most luxurious thing would have been a pool at your front door or a little diner next to the registration office if you were lucky. Can you turn a motel into hip and fancy? Can you get hip with it? Yes. And this article here is the proof.

Camden Loves You

Camden Town, Europe, London, travel, UK

After a series of non amusing events lately, I couldn’t really imagine that my girl’s weekend out of town would join the group. It’s been a while since I’ve hit the airport, for my taste, so it lightly disappointed me to know that the so awaited gateaway turned out to a solo trip. So I basically had the choice: flush everything down the toilet, or get out of town to give myself that break anyway.
