This time, for my northern festival tour, I’d like to actually take you a couple of miles more down to central Europe. To be exact, I’m taking you to my home country Switzerland, on the borders of the Lac Léman, to Lausanne, where I enjoyed the 10th edition of Electrosanne.

When I meet new people and I tell them I’m coming from a South Italian city called Benevento, all I see is a big question mark on their faces. So to make things easier, I explain that it’s pretty much close to Naples. And then comes the big “Aww, yeah Naples, the Amalfi Coast, Capri…”.

“We walked these streets like kings, our faces in the wind
And everywhere we were, we made the city sing
We sang “forever young,” we had our fingers crossed
And when the city sleeps, it dreams of us”

Nine months. Wow. That’s a freakin’ pregnancy. An unplanned one. And so was this post…

I felt that the time came to rethink and make recap about what I’ve experienced lately. While I’m doing it, I’m carrying around my superslow netbook in my Italian house. I’m writing from the darkened down kitchen, to prevent the heat coming in too much, I’m throwing myself on the 80s couch in our livingroom, taken here back in 1996, when we were supposed to live here “forever”.

As you might already had the pleasure to read about in one of my latest blogpost, I have this thing for wide views. I love taking as many shots as possible from panoramas, doesn’t really matter if I have beaches, cities or other landscapes in front of me: I adore them all! This might has to do with the fact that I was raised part of my life on a hill in South Italy, where I could overlook over all little towns from my terrace, surrounded by silence, holding an espresso and being barefoot most of the time.

Capri: Livin’ La Dolce Vita

Being in and around Naples can get quite magical. I am very proud when it comes to talking about the Italian region I come from. Italy’s obviously beautiful in every way and every part of it has something special, that’s for sure.

#BeMoreTea: Zurich’s Rooftops & the Sweet Taste of Music

Hear, hear! We’re having a wonderful summer up here! Seriously, Zurich has been blessed this year with a good bunch of days full of sunshine, so the need of escaping down south, were the rain risk is lower, totally disappeared.

My hometown offers a good variety of possibilities on how to spend days like these. Our city is well known for having tons of little places to escape the daily stress and enjoy your afterwork rays outside with a cold drink. There’s something for every gusto and, for your own personal refreshment, you can choose between a river or the lake.

There are these places full of creativity, every city has them.

Summer Sound Gone North #2: Helene Beach Festival (D)

Berlin, Blog, Festival, Germany, Helene Beach Festival, Music, travel

After being close to the North Sea, my festival schedule took me to another sandy beach located on one of the few lakes located around Berlin. The Helene Beach Festival is a musical event located around one hour away from the big city, and is able to lock half of its visitors (around 25 000 a year) out of the big city and bring them some vacation feeling close to their home town.

7 Days, 7 Stages and almost a record cracked of 300’000 visitors – something that started in 1976 as a small folk festival reached the biggest amount of musiclovers this year for its 40. birthday. I’m talking about the legendary Paléo Festival Nyon.
