As you might already had the pleasure to read about in one of my latest blogpost, I have this thing for wide views. I love taking as many shots as possible from panoramas, doesn’t really matter if I have beaches, cities or other landscapes in front of me: I adore them all! This might has to do with the fact that I was raised part of my life on a hill in South Italy, where I could overlook over all little towns from my terrace, surrounded by silence, holding an espresso and being barefoot most of the time.

#BeMoreTea: Zurich’s Rooftops & the Sweet Taste of Music
architecture, Blog, city, Event, expats, Food, life, lipton, Music, rooftops, Switzerland, tourism, travel, ZurichHear, hear! We’re having a wonderful summer up here! Seriously, Zurich has been blessed this year with a good bunch of days full of sunshine, so the need of escaping down south, were the rain risk is lower, totally disappeared.
My hometown offers a good variety of possibilities on how to spend days like these. Our city is well known for having tons of little places to escape the daily stress and enjoy your afterwork rays outside with a cold drink. There’s something for every gusto and, for your own personal refreshment, you can choose between a river or the lake.
Summer Sound Gone North #2: Helene Beach Festival (D)
Berlin, Blog, Festival, Germany, Helene Beach Festival, Music, travelAfter being close to the North Sea, my festival schedule took me to another sandy beach located on one of the few lakes located around Berlin. The Helene Beach Festival is a musical event located around one hour away from the big city, and is able to lock half of its visitors (around 25 000 a year) out of the big city and bring them some vacation feeling close to their home town.
Paléo Festival Nyon: 40 years of legendary madness #KeepItVintage
Blog, Festival, Kings of Leon, Music, paleo festival nyon, Robbie Williams, Switzerland, The Script, travel7 Days, 7 Stages and almost a record cracked of 300’000 visitors – something that started in 1976 as a small folk festival reached the biggest amount of musiclovers this year for its 40. birthday. I’m talking about the legendary Paléo Festival Nyon.
Because we’re all Hippies in the End. #KeepItVintage
architecture, art, Blog, bohemian, La Ruche, Music, Nyon, Paléo Festival, Switzerland, travelSeven years ago I had the first festival experience ever in my life. At the time my brother was a huge Justice fan, so the only showdate in Switzerland was their appearence at the Paléo Festival in Nyon. I basically had no idea what to expect and how an event like this looks like. So I drove down almost to the French border and was surprised of what I found – let’s say, 2007 was the year of the beginning of my very permanent festival visitor disease. And I’m thankful for that
Summer Sound gone North #1: Deichbrand Festival (D)
Blog, Bremerhaven, Cuxhaven, Deichbrand Festival, Festival, Germany, Hamburg, Music, travelAlright, alright… I know that you hear coming out of my posts a lot how much I love the very warm and beachy side of life and how great an all year round beachbabe life would be, BUT, if you are a frequent reader on this blog you probably should know that I love spending some time in the summer months up in the northern side of Europe.
Montreux Jazz Festival 2015: Where Magic Happens
Alabama Shakes, Blog, Festival, Inspiration, Montreux, Montreux Jazz Festival, Music, Paolo Nutini, Switzerland, travelI am a big fan of Montreux. If you are in Switzerland during summertime you absolutely can’t miss this place. It’s the riviera of our little country, where the lake gets a deep turquoise colour and you feel vacation vibes from everywhere. And you can’t obviously miss the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival!
Mando Diao (SWE): Rise and Fall?
Deichbrand Festival, Festival, Mando Diao, Music, RockThere was a time where Mando Diao used to fill venues until the sold out and sometimes had to give additional concerts. There was a time where Mando Diao were the next big thing. And there was a time when everybody went nuts, when you just pronounced the bands name.
Parov Stelar (AT): Dance your Demons out.
Electroswing, Music, Parovstelar, ReleaseIt’s always funny for me to watch the crowd that attends a Parov Stelar concert. I Focus mostly on those who never saw them playing live, and their reactions are always putting a huge smile on my face. The band is capable to transform the whole venue into a dancing Party, it feels more like clubbing: they know how to make People happy, they’re genuine on stage, they have fun. I’ve attended a good bunch of concerts here in Switzerland, and our audience is pretty famous for staying quite calm and reserved during a live concert. It seems that Parov Stelar and his band had to appear in the Picture to Change that. I’ve never seen Swiss People going more crazy than at one of his live Performances. So, congratulations guys, a miracle actually happened!
Songbird Festival Opening #1: The Drops / Willam White – young freshness vs. positive vibes
Concert, Davos, Live, Music, Songbird Festival, Switzerland, The Drops, William WhiteThe 7th Edition of the Songbird Festival taking place in the Swiss mountains of Davos couldn’t have a better start by having on stage two acts totally different from each other: the young pop/rock quartet of Basel based band The Drops and our national Reggae Sweetheart William White.
